Overview
- Shortly before 1 p.m., officers in Sugar Land found a woman shot in the driver’s seat of a white SUV that had gone off the road; she was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
- Roughly 30 minutes later at an auto shop near 13400 Fondren Road in southwest Houston, a mechanic was killed and a nearby witness recording the scene was fatally shot.
- The suspected shooter was later discovered on the 8000 block of Creekbend Drive, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound inside his vehicle.
- Police linked both scenes to the same man by his description and a silver Ford Escape, and they have not released the identities of the victims or the suspect.
- Houston and Sugar Land homicide investigators are coordinating their probes, reviewing witness accounts and video, and say there is no continuing threat to the public.
