Overview
- New Jersey State Police identified the victims as Yaakov Kilberg, 19, and Aharon Lebovits, Shlomo Cohen, and Chaim Grossman, all 18, with three from Lakewood, New Jersey, and one from Fallsburg, New York.
- Investigators say a Dodge pickup driven by Christopher Neff, 41, of Westminster, Colorado, was heading north in the southbound lanes when it struck the teens’ Mazda head-on near milepost 1.3 around 12:40 a.m. Sunday.
- After the initial collision, a Freightliner tractor-trailer traveling behind the Mazda also struck the vehicle; the truck driver was uninjured while Neff sustained serious injuries.
- State Police have not announced any charges and are asking anyone who saw the Dodge Ram traveling the wrong way or witnessed the crash to contact the Troop D Moorestown Station detective bureau.
- Community organizations, including Misaskim and Chai Lifeline, coordinated support and funeral arrangements in Lakewood as friends, families, and classmates mourned the four students.
