Overview

• The incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, at Lorenzer Platz in Nuremberg’s city centre.
• According to police and witness reports, an unknown woman struck a three-year-old on the neck, then bumped, pushed and hit the child’s 37-year-old mother before fleeing.
• At least one passerby helped the victim, and two other women told the mother they had observed the assault.
• Polizeiinspektion Nürnberg-Mitte has opened a bodily-injury investigation and reports no arrest so far.
• Investigators released a description—stocky build, black mid-length hair, broken teeth, reddish top, backpack with a Norma bag, black-and-white Nike sneakers—and asked witnesses to call 0911 2112-6115.
