Police Seek Two After Failed Christmas Eve ATM Drag at White Settlement 7-Eleven

Police are examining possible ties to recent North Texas convenience store heists.

Overview

  • Around 3:45 a.m. on Dec. 24, two men used a metal cable attached to a stolen SUV to yank an ATM from a 7-Eleven on South Cherry Lane in White Settlement.
  • The ATM broke free as the suspects fled and was recovered on the I-30 service road between South Cherry Lane and South Las Vegas Trail with the safe intact.
  • Officers using license-plate readers and city cameras located the black SUV abandoned in the 2700 block of Shenandoah Road less than a mile from the store; investigators say it had been stolen in Dallas about an hour earlier.
  • The suspects remain at large and are believed to have fled on foot or been picked up by another vehicle; police are seeking tips through Detective Geovanny Ramirez or Tarrant County Crime Stoppers.
  • Surveillance video shows extensive interior and storefront damage, and investigators are coordinating with neighboring agencies to assess links to similar recent crimes.
