Overview

• Police say the theft occurred on 23 September at about 11:15 a.m. near Karl-Lederer-Platz in Geretsried.
• The thief distracted the 76-year-old by pretending to gift her a necklace, then removed her real gold chain worth around €1,000 and fled.
• Investigators describe the suspect as in his mid-40s, about 1.70 meters tall, stocky, with a round bearded face and light skin, speaking broken German.
• He wore a light beige autumn jacket, dark fabric trousers and light trainers, and escaped via Graslitzer Straße through the Heimatmuseum passage toward the bicycle path.
