Police Seek Leads After Two Residential Burglaries in Rhineland-Palatinate

Authorities have launched parallel inquiries using public tip lines after an intruder fled a Kaiserslautern apartment following a low-value theft, with a safe stolen during a separate Niederalben burglary recovered on Bundesstraße 420.

  • On July 8 a woman aged approximately 20 to 30 entered a Kaiserslautern apartment on Ländelstraße, rifled cabinets and stole a low three-digit sum before fleeing when challenged by a resident.
  • Investigators describe the suspect as about 1.6 meters tall with a round face, wearing black clothing, carrying a black backpack and sporting a ponytail, and have set up a tip line at 0631 36913312.
  • In a separate incident on Sunday afternoon in Niederalben, burglars removed two heavy safes from a single-family home and abandoned one on the roadway of Bundesstraße 420.
  • Police estimate that the Niederalben thieves made off with jewelry and cash valued at €10,000 and are examining how the heavy safes were transported during the heist.
  • The Kriminalpolizei and Kaiserslautern police are urging witnesses to come forward with any observations or surveillance footage to support the ongoing investigations.
