Overview
- Search warrants from the Amtsgericht Tiergarten were issued following a request linked to eviction suits pending at Landgericht Berlin II.
- Roughly 700 officers were deployed across the city, with several hundred at the site, using rams, saws and technical units to breach barricaded doors.
- Police initially reported encountering 15 people and a dog inside, later saying they had searched 13 apartments and recorded 26 identities.
- The operation proceeded without resistance, occupants were allowed to remain for now, police also secured the courthouse and owner’s offices, and the site was cleared for traffic around 10:30 a.m.
- Earlier in the week an office tied to the British owner was vandalized, which state security suspects was intended as intimidation related to the dispute.
