Overview
- LAPD’s Robbery–Homicide Division said the Tesla had sat for weeks before being towed and that someone placed Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s body in the vehicle’s front trunk.
- Parking records show the car was marked Aug. 27, cited Sept. 3, towed Sept. 5, and the remains were discovered Sept. 8 at a Hollywood tow yard after reports of a foul odor, with the body inside a bag in the frunk.
- The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified the victim as the 15-year-old missing from Lake Elsinore and reported the body was severely decomposed and likely in the vehicle for an extended period, with cause and manner deferred.
- Detectives executed a Sept. 17 search warrant at a Hollywood Hills residence near where the car was towed and seized items for analysis, but they have not disclosed what was collected.
- The Tesla is registered to musician David Anthony Burke (d4vd), who has not been named a suspect or charged; his representatives say he is cooperating, which police would not confirm, and investigators called it premature to characterize any relationship.
