Overview
- Greater Manchester Police said the crash, reported just before 7pm on Sunday, involved three vehicles including a police car on the clockwise M60 near Whitefield/Prestwich.
- Police confirmed on Monday morning that one person was taken to hospital for checks and no serious injuries were reported.
- Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service had earlier said two people were conveyed to hospital, a discrepancy not yet reconciled with the police account.
- All traffic was temporarily held between junctions 16 and 17 and lanes 3 and 4 were closed before the motorway fully reopened at around 8.10pm.
- Two fire engines and a trauma technician attended for roughly 55 minutes as images showed badly damaged vehicles at the scene.
