Police Reopen Investigation Into Multiple Tory Lockdown Breaches

British police will reopen an investigation into COVID-19 lockdown breaches at a December 2020 event held in the headquarters of the governing Conservative Party.
The investigation concerns a Christmas party organized by staff working on a mayoral election campaign.
The scandal of government parties during the pandemic led to fines for many individuals, including former Prime Minister Boris Johnson and current leader Rishi Sunak.
The Met is also opening a new investigation into potential Covid breaches at a birthday gathering at Parliament on December 8, 2020.
The Met and Thames Valley Police will not be investigating potential further breaches involving Boris Johnson and others at Downing Street and Chequers between June 2020 and May 2021.
