Police Renew Hunt for Masked Intruders After Forrestfield Home Invasion

Fresh details of the June assault on a Forrestfield pensioner have been released in a public appeal for tips to identify two masked suspects.

Overview

  • Two men wearing black balaclavas, described as tanned and speaking with a foreign accent, broke into Paul Doyle’s home on June 24 and held the 78-year-old at knifepoint for about 30 minutes.
  • The intruders stole roughly $300 in cash, a bag of collectors’ coins valued at about $1,000, a phone and alcohol before pouring white paint over Doyle’s $20,000 speedway engine and fleeing.
  • Midland Detectives have committed significant resources to what they call a “heinous” crime and are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
  • Doyle was physically unharmed but left traumatised by the ordeal and is due to see a psychologist this week to help with his recovery.
  • No arrests have been made and police emphasize that even small tips could be crucial to identifying and apprehending the suspects.
