Overview
- Two men wearing black balaclavas, described as tanned and speaking with a foreign accent, broke into Paul Doyle’s home on June 24 and held the 78-year-old at knifepoint for about 30 minutes.
- The intruders stole roughly $300 in cash, a bag of collectors’ coins valued at about $1,000, a phone and alcohol before pouring white paint over Doyle’s $20,000 speedway engine and fleeing.
- Midland Detectives have committed significant resources to what they call a “heinous” crime and are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
- Doyle was physically unharmed but left traumatised by the ordeal and is due to see a psychologist this week to help with his recovery.
