Overview

• On July 30 at around 4:05 p.m., gunfire erupted outside the Christy Recreation Center at 56th and Christian Streets, injuring five people.
• A 10-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl suffered graze wounds and are in stable condition at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
• Two 16-year-old boys were also shot, one remains in critical condition and the other is stable, while a 32-year-old center employee was treated for a minor injury.
• Police released footage of four youths approaching the center moments before the shooting; no arrests have been made.
