Overview
- A visibly Jewish man wearing a kippa and a black sweater with an IDF emblem was verbally abused and then physically attacked at Düsseldorf’s Rathausufer on 22 September.
- Police’s state protection unit opened a dedicated investigation commission called EK Rathaus and are treating the incident as an antisemitic hate crime.
- On 2 October Polizei Düsseldorf published surveillance photos and detailed descriptions of two male suspects—one about 1.75 m and stocky, the other about 1.80 m and athletic, both with black hair—and appealed for tips.
- No arrests have been reported so far and witnesses with information were asked to contact the Düsseldorf police at 0211 870-0.
