Police Release 911 Call Detailing Sherrone Moore’s Wife Fearing He’d Harm Himself After Firing

The recording captures her request to track his phone ahead of a Jan. 22 court hearing on home invasion and stalking charges.

Overview

  • Ann Arbor Police released the Dec. 10 911 audio, in which Kelli Moore told a dispatcher her husband said he was “trying to kill himself.”
  • She said she didn’t know his location, relayed he said he was on a highway, identified a black 2025 Chevy Tahoe, and noted he does not carry weapons.
  • Prosecutors allege that after being fired Moore entered a staffer’s apartment, grabbed knives and scissors, and threatened self-harm before leaving; he was arrested later that day.
  • Moore was arraigned Dec. 12 on felony third-degree home invasion and misdemeanor counts of stalking and entering without permission, then released on a $25,000 bond with GPS monitoring and a no-contact order.
  • The university says it terminated Moore for cause after finding an inappropriate relationship and has retained Jenner & Block for an external athletics review, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for Jan. 22.
