Overview

  • On April 5, while intoxicated and accompanied by a friend, Imaichi allegedly threatened a taxi driver with “I’ll kill you,” pulled his arm and struck the acrylic partition, though the driver was unharmed.
  • Yoyogi Police Station completed its investigation and on July 31 forwarded the case file to prosecutors under the 書類送検 procedure with an opinion recommending appropriate punishment.
  • The Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office will now assess whether to indict Imaichi, pursue summary prosecution with a fine or close the case without charges.
  • Imaichi’s management announced that he has reached a settlement with the taxi company and has forfeited his pay while under self-imposed home confinement as a disciplinary measure.
  • Imaichi has performed with Sandaime J SOUL BROTHERS since 2010 and launched a solo career in 2018, a profile that has intensified public scrutiny of his conduct.
