Police Recover Car After Woman Is Abducted From São Paulo Supermarket Lot

Overview

• A woman was forced into a vehicle by three men, one armed, around 2:20 p.m. on Jan. 6 in the Giga Atacado parking lot on Avenida das Nações Unidas in southern São Paulo.
• Surveillance and widely shared video show a suspect exiting a neighboring car, pointing a gun, and subduing the victim as she unlocked her SUV.
• Police located the suspects' vehicle shortly after on Avenida Dr. Mauro Lindemberg Monteiro in Osasco and found the victim nearby.
• The three suspects remain at large, according to the Military Police, as the investigation continues.
• The Public Security Secretariat says the occurrence is being processed at the 11th Police District, and the supermarket has not responded to media inquiries.
