• Victoria Police received a tip about 1pm Friday reporting two bodies in bushland near Nelse by Ledenfeld Point, about 16 kilometres from Falls Creek.
• Uniform officers, the Search and Rescue Squad and the Police Air Wing were deployed to access the isolated area.
• Police said they would not provide further updates or confirmation until officers arrive at the site.
• Nine News reported teams were on foot by about 6pm with an estimated two-hour hike remaining to reach the precise location.
• Authorities said the response is unrelated to the ongoing hunt for accused double murderer Dezi Freeman in the High Country.
