Overview

• Greater Manchester Police responded around 3:50am to a disturbance in Bury before a vehicle made off and was pursued using specialist tactics toward Heywood.
• The suspect car hit the front of a Bridge Street premises believed to be Heywood Star at about 4:40am, bringing down part of the structure and strewing debris across the road.
• The driver, a man in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving and threats to kill after being taken to hospital with an arm injury.
• Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said the incident involved two vehicles and a domestic building; one male casualty went to hospital and crews worked for roughly two and a half hours.
