Police Probe String of High-Value Pedelec Thefts in Three German Towns

Police seek witnesses after separate thefts reported in Mühlhausen, Gailingen, Ludwigshafen.

Overview

  • In Mühlhausen, thieves forced a storage-room door between about 20:00 and 1:30 on Sept. 19–20 and took three pedelecs, including a green KTM Macina Kapoho 2973 and a gray Scott Patron eRIDE 910, causing lower five-figure damage.
  • At Gailingen’s Rheinuferpark on Sept. 21, two locked mountainbike-pedelecs were taken between 11:00 and 13:30 after the locks were defeated, a black/green Feldmeier worth about €3,499 and a blue Bulls worth about €2,550.
  • Ludwigshafen recorded two separate thefts: a €1,200 Carver bike taken Sept. 19 from Brüsseler Ring/Amsterdamer Straße and a Cube worth about €3,900 stolen Sept. 21 from a senior home’s underground garage on Gabriele-Münter-Straße.
  • Investigations are underway in all three cases, with police appealing for information from anyone who observed suspicious activity at the listed locations and times.
