Police Probe Separate Toronto and Ottawa Crashes Leaving Several Critically Injured

Investigators are seeking video from nearby cameras to reconstruct the weekend collisions.

  • In Toronto’s Moss Park early Saturday, a 32-year-old driving a grey Honda Odyssey struck a woman believed to be about 30 who was laying in the road, and she was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
  • Toronto Police opened an investigation into the Moss Park strike and asked residents, businesses and drivers to share any relevant dash‑cam or security footage.
  • On Sunday evening in Ottawa, an SUV ended up on top of a pickup after a collision at Tenth Line Road and Wall Road, and a 27-year-old man from the SUV was taken to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition.
  • In the same Ottawa crash, a woman in her 20s from the SUV was hospitalized in serious condition and a woman in her 50s from the pickup was moved to a trauma centre in serious but stable condition.
  • Also Sunday, Osgoode crews extricated a man in his 40s after a pickup–tractor collision on Eighth Line Road in which the tractor driver was uninjured, and earlier a motorcyclist in her 40s was removed from a ditch with serious injuries after an SUV collision on Rideau Valley Drive North as police briefly closed the road.
