Overview
- Police Scotland said officers received a report around 12:35 a.m. on January 1 of a break-in and damage at Bruntons Aero Products in Musselburgh and confirmed enquiries are ongoing.
- Video posted on X appears to show masked individuals smashing CNC machinery, computer servers and office equipment and spraying slogans including “There’s only one way this ends” and “Drop Leonardo.”
- Those claiming responsibility said the site was targeted because Bruntons supplies Leonardo, which produces laser targeting systems for the F-35 programme and other military equipment used by Israel.
- Bruntons describes itself as a specialist maker of machined components and mechanical cable assemblies supplying all levels of the aerospace supply chain.
- The incident follows similar attacks on defence-linked premises in late 2025 in Edinburgh and Glasgow, and industry sources warn such actions risk disrupting production, damaging infrastructure and threatening staff safety.
