Overview
- On July 31 around 5 p.m., San Bernardino officers arrived at Perris Hill Park after reports of a dog mauling involving multiple pit bull–type dogs.
- Two pit bulls charged at an officer and a victim receiving aid, prompting one officer to fire and kill one of the dogs.
- One woman died at a hospital and a second victim remains hospitalized in an unknown condition.
- San Bernardino Animal Control has removed 14 dogs from the park for quarantine and testing as part of the ongoing inquiry.
