Police Probe Deaths of Woman and Girl at Luxury Brisbane Airbnb After Welfare Check

Queensland Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public.

  • Officers conducted a welfare check about 12:43–12:45pm Monday at a Tinarra Crescent address in Kenmore Hills and found two people deceased.
  • The victims were identified as a 54-year-old woman from Norman Park and an eight-year-old girl who were known to each other.
  • A crime scene was declared and investigations into the circumstances of the deaths are underway.
  • The property had been listed on Airbnb for more than $1,000 a night on a 2.5-acre block backing onto Mount Coot-tha, and the listing has been removed.
  • Police have made no arrests, are not seeking other suspects at this stage, and are appealing for witnesses or relevant footage.
