Police have released details after a deadly shooting outside a pub in Sydney’s Inner West, that left one man dead and another seriously injured.

Overview

  • Officers are examining a dark blue Ford Mustang found burnt out in Rydalmere as a possible getaway car, though no link is confirmed.
  • The victims have been identified as Gilbert Shino, 39, who died at the scene, and Maradona Yalda, 31, who is stable in hospital after surgery under police guard.
  • Police say the pair were ambushed about 6:40pm Sunday as they walked to their car after watching UFC at the Harold Park Hotel.
  • Investigators believe the shooting was targeted and are assessing Yalda’s alleged underworld ties, including whether a suspected drug theft was a motive.
  • Strike Force Westmoore and homicide detectives are leading a manhunt and have appealed for CCTV and dashcam footage from the area.
