Lawrence was the driver of a second vehicle that was following the stolen vehicle.
The officer fired three rounds at Lawrence after he refused to obey orders to turn off and stop moving the vehicle.
Firearms were found inside the vehicle Lawrence was driving.
One of the three other occupants of the vehicle, a 19-year-old from Dallas, was arrested on outstanding warrants.
