Police Officer and Civilian Sustain Gunshot Injuries in Brisbane Altercation

A confrontation at a residence in Annerley led to both individuals being hospitalized with serious injuries as investigations commence.

Queensland police responded to a disturbance on Tamar Street, Annerley, at approximately 9:13am on Friday morning.
An altercation between a male police constable and a civilian resulted in both being shot and sustaining serious injuries.
The officer suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, while the civilian's injuries were described as life-threatening by paramedics.
Both individuals were transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
The incident is under investigation by the Ethical Standards Command with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission.
