Overview

  • Devon and Cornwall Police discovered Hockey’s body on July 8 at around 6pm during a separate missing-person search in woodland between Truro and Probus.
  • The 50-year-old was formally identified by officers and his next of kin have been notified.
  • Authorities are treating the death as unexplained but suspicious and have launched a formal homicide inquiry led by the Major Crime Investigation Team.
  • Hockey was last seen in Truro city centre on June 23 before boarding a bus to Trispen, where his movements went untraced until his body was found.
  • Detectives are confronting limited surveillance in rural Cornwall and are urging residents of Trispen, Tresillian and nearby villages to check any dashcam, doorbell or CCTV recordings for relevant evidence.
