Overview
- Three magnet-program middle-school students waiting for a bus outside Crofton Elementary on Jan. 12 were approached by a man in a gray four-door sedan between 8:00 and 8:20 a.m.
- The driver asked the students to get into his car, then exited and repeated the request, telling them he was taking them to school, according to police.
- The students ran away, the man left, and the children were transported safely to their schools where they reported the encounter to officials.
- Detectives have opened an investigation and patrol officers are posted at Crofton Elementary during drop-off and pickup out of precaution.
