Overview

• A woman in her 60s suffered a medical episode and was pulled from the swimming pool at Total Fitness’s West Strand gym in Preston on June 2 at about 5:30 pm.
• Staff and responders from Lancashire Constabulary and the North West Ambulance Service attempted resuscitation, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
• Total Fitness closed the gym that evening to allow investigators to examine the site.
• Lancashire Constabulary says the death is not being treated as suspicious and that a file will be submitted to HM Coroner.
