Police Identify Woman Found in Mattress in Lima as Ecuadorian Mother of Four

Police have launched a border search for suspects named by a detained mototaxi driver.

Overview

  • The body was discovered on January 15 inside a discarded mattress at the intersection of Avenidas Naranjal and Pacasmayo in San Martín de Porres.
  • The victim was identified as Jennifer Lisbeth using a crown tattoo with the name “Ariel,” which led investigators to her partner who confirmed her identity.
  • Detained mototaxi driver Darwin Cruz Vásquez told police he was paid to transport the mattress by three people identified as Alex, Dark and Adriana, and he claims he did not know it contained a body.
  • Police say the three named individuals are believed to be fleeing, border coordination has been activated in Tumbes and Tacna, and the investigation is being led by Depincri.
  • Officers reported lacerations and other wounds on the body, and the partner said she had traveled from Guayas to Lima on January 11 for a job using a one-way flight from Tumbes.
