Overview
- Saturday morning police say a bar in Cologne’s Ostheim district was shot at around 7:00 a.m. and one person inside was not injured.
- Witnesses reported a man firing multiple shots and then boarding a waiting dark van that fled toward Vingst, and officers are searching for two suspected men.
- A Mordkommission has taken over the inquiry and is examining whether the Ostheim attack connects to shots fired at an empty Südstadt café earlier this week.
- So far police have confirmed no casualties in either incident and state that key details such as motive and suspect identities remain under investigation.
- Investigators will review CCTV and witness statements as patrols increase in affected neighborhoods and authorities ask anyone with information to contact Cologne police.
