- Police say the victims went there to meet two Black males dressed in black, one described as heavyset with dreadlocks, who arrived in a teal Honda Pilot.
- A girlfriend who drove one victim reported hearing two gunshots before the attackers confronted her about a bag, then left in the SUV.
- Investigators recovered two cellphones a block away believed to belong to the victims, but no firearm or ballistic evidence has been located.
- Detectives are canvassing for surveillance and witnesses as they work to identify the victims fully and determine whether robbery or a drug-related dispute was the motive.
