Overview

• Officers responded around 4:17 a.m. to the 4500 block of Solly Avenue near Pennypack Park and found two men shot once in the head with their hands zip-tied.
• Police say the victims went there to meet two Black males dressed in black, one described as heavyset with dreadlocks, who arrived in a teal Honda Pilot.
• A girlfriend who drove one victim reported hearing two gunshots before the attackers confronted her about a bag, then left in the SUV.
• Investigators recovered two cellphones a block away believed to belong to the victims, but no firearm or ballistic evidence has been located.
• Detectives are canvassing for surveillance and witnesses as they work to identify the victims fully and determine whether robbery or a drug-related dispute was the motive.
