• He was taken to John Fawkner Private Hospital with life-threatening injuries and died early Monday.
• Police believe the vehicle involved is a small to mid-sized European-model SUV in white or silver with visible damage to the front and passenger side.
• Officers have not spoken to the driver, who fled the scene without offering assistance.
