Overview
- Emergency services were called to Longmoor Lane near Third Avenue at about 4:15pm on Friday, 5 December.
- The local woman, 81, was believed to be returning from a shop, suffered serious injuries, and died shortly after at Aintree Hospital.
- The driver left the scene; the vehicle is described as dark-coloured and may show visible damage.
- Police closed the road for forensic examinations, photographed evidence, conducted door-to-door inquiries, and are reviewing local CCTV.
