Overview

• Up to 13 helicopters will fly a published route from September 22 to 26 as part of a multi-state exercise.
• Formation flights over selected major cities are planned to train tactical deployments and difficult maneuvers.
• The route runs from Sankt Augustin to stops including Gifhorn, Hamburg, Fuhlendorf, Barth, Neubrandenburg, Blumberg, Bautzen and Kassel-Calden before returning on September 26.
• Crews are trainees from the Bundespolizei and state police completing the final phase of a 22-month course that began in autumn 2023.
• Authorities notified residents to expect increased helicopter activity and noise during the week.
