Police Halt Drunk Driver with 3.01 Promille in Neuwied

A 52-year-old man was caught driving without a license and under heavy alcohol influence after a citizen reported erratic driving.

The incident occurred on Saturday evening on the federal highway between Neuwied and Rengsdorf in Germany.
A concerned woman alerted the police after noticing the vehicle being driven unsafely.
Officers stopped the driver, who immediately admitted to consuming alcohol; a breath test revealed a blood alcohol level of 3.01 promille.
The driver, who no longer held a valid license, was taken into custody, and further legal proceedings are expected.
This follows another recent case where a 58-year-old driver caused an accident in Ludwigshafen with a blood alcohol level of 1.8 promille, leading to significant damage and legal consequences.
