Police: Driver Dies After Stolen For-Hire Car Crashes Into Midwood Building

The wreck followed the theft of a running vehicle used for rideshare service, and police are conducting a full collision investigation.

A 41yr old man driving a black Honda Civic Livery sedan southbound on Flatbush Avenue was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital when he was ejected from the car after he lost control, mounted the sidewalk, and slammed into the residential building at 1750 Flatbush Avenue, bounced off the wall and slammed into a nearby tree whereupon the Civic split in half, ejecting him from the vehicle in Brooklyn on Monday Sept. 8, 2025. 0819.
