Police Dismantle Clandestine Tusi Lab in Valencia’s Ruzafa District

The bust underscores authorities’ push to dismantle small-scale drug networks that operate from ordinary residences.

Overview

  • The Policía Nacional executed a judicially authorized raid on July 9, arresting four suspects on drug trafficking charges in a rented flat.
  • Agents surprised suspects in the act of ‘cooking’ tusi, a mixture of caffeine, ketamine and MDMA, when they stormed the premises.
  • Seized items included 20 grams of cocaine, 50 grams of tusi, 100 grams of marijuana, hashish, MDMA pills, hallucinogenic mushrooms and LSD along with cash, two precision scales and packaging tools.
  • All four individuals have been remanded to provisional prison, including one who had an active judicial warrant from a Madrid court.
  • The operation follows a wider nationwide crackdown on hidden drug networks and builds on intelligence gathered since January through community tips and surveillance.
