Overview
- Queensland Police located human remains at about 2:30 pm on June 6 in bushland near Good Night Scrub National Park, expanding searches roughly nine kilometres from earlier search zones.
- Detective Inspector Craig Mansfield said cadaver dogs and telecommunications data guided specialist units to the unburied remains, which are consistent with Pheobe’s disappearance on May 15.
- Housemates James Wood, 34, and Tanika Bromley, 33, face one count of murder and two counts of interfering with a corpse and have been remanded in custody ahead of their August 11 court appearance.
- Investigators allege Pheobe’s body was moved more than once after her alleged murder, and ongoing forensic examinations will establish the identity and cause of death.
- A candlelight vigil is scheduled for Sunday at Kolan Community Park in Gin Gin, and police continue to appeal for information on a grey Hyundai ix35 seen between May 15 and 18 in the greater Gin Gin area.
