Overview
- Police were called shortly before 22:00 on Friday to the ZUP bus station in Lindau after a caller reported an assault.
- Attackers used emergency hammers stolen from a city bus to strike the 13-year-old, who was then kicked while on the ground.
- A coordinated manhunt by local, federal and border police located the suspects hiding behind the Lindau criminal police building.
- The suspects are two Syrian brothers and two Ukrainians aged 11 to 13 who reside in Austria’s Vorarlberg.
- Police say a verbal dispute with a 13-year-old Ukrainian preceded the attack, and guardians along with the youth welfare office have been notified as the investigation continues.
