Police Book Japanese Woman Over Attempted Break-In at BTS Star Jungkook’s Home

Police say questioning has not begun because the suspect is abroad.

Overview

  • Yongsan police booked the suspect on suspicion of attempted trespassing and, at the complainant’s request, under South Korea’s anti-stalking law.
  • The woman is accused of visiting Jungkook’s detached house in Seoul’s Yongsan District between Nov. 12 and 14 and repeatedly trying to open the door lock.
  • Investigators say they have not questioned the suspect because she is not currently in Korea, and the probe remains active.
  • Some outlets citing Dispatch report the woman, described as in her late 50s, was detained on Dec. 16, a claim not confirmed by police.
  • This marks at least the third such case this year, following a Korean woman referred to prosecutors and a Chinese woman who received a suspended indictment.
