• Essex Police said a hotel resident was reportedly assaulted outside The Bell and a 49-year-old man from Harlow was arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody.
• A dispersal order covered central Epping until 6am Saturday, giving officers powers to move on people suspected of anti-social behaviour, and one person received a Section 42 notice.
• Chief Superintendent Simon Anslow said claims that residents threw flares were categorically untrue, stating devices were lit and thrown by people purporting to protest.
