Police Arrest Three After Varanasi Teacher Is Killed in Parking Dispute

  • Police said an argument over car parking around 10 pm at a Kedar Colony apartment complex led to a confrontation between teacher Praveen Jha, 48, and neighbor Adarsh Singh.
  • According to officials, Adarsh and two associates assaulted Jha, whose family took him to the IMS-BHU trauma centre where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
  • Deputy commissioner of police (Crime) Sarvanan T said all three suspects were arrested within three hours as the investigation continues and the body was sent for postmortem.
  • An FIR was filed under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which covers punishment for murder, following a complaint lodged by Jha’s wife.
