Polestar 5 Launches as Flagship Electric GT at IAA Munich

The four-door grand tourer debuts Polestar’s bonded-aluminium PPA with a 112‑kWh, 800‑V battery supporting 350‑kW charging.

Overview

  • Orders are open now in Europe with list prices of €119,900 for the Dual Motor and €142,900 for the Performance version, and deliveries are slated to begin next year.
  • Two AWD variants are offered: 550 kW (0–100 km/h in 3.9 s, up to 670 km WLTP) and 650 kW Performance (3.2 s, up to 565 km), both limited to 250 km/h.
  • The platform integrates the battery as a structural element, uses bonded aluminium developed in England, and targets high rigidity with reduced weight.
  • Charging from 10 to 80 percent is quoted at about 22 minutes on DC up to 350 kW, with SK On cells providing 112 kWh gross capacity.
  • The production design closely follows the Precept concept and features a 0.24 drag coefficient, Recaro seating, a 14.5-inch Android Automotive display, Pilot Assist, and a Bowers & Wilkins audio system, with early tests noting responsive steering and balanced handling.
