Overview
- URE awarded CfDs to three projects: PGE’s 975 MW Baltica 9, Orlen’s 900 MW Baltic East, and Equinor–Polenergia’s 1,560 MW Bałtyk 1.
- Published strike prices were PLN 489/MWh for Baltica 9, PLN 476.88/MWh for Baltic East, and PLN 492.32/MWh for Bałtyk 1.
- The support takes the form of two-sided Contracts for Difference lasting 25 years, designed to stabilize revenues against market price swings.
- PGE signed a preliminary deal to acquire RWE’s adjacent 350 MW FEW Baltic II, which it plans to combine with Baltica 9 for about 1.3 GW total capacity, with closing expected in the first quarter of 2026.
- Four bids were submitted, and PGE’s Baltica 1 did not win a CfD, while initial power from the three awarded farms is expected in December 2032.
