Overview
- Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz introduced the En Guardia program in Warsaw alongside Gen. Wiesław Kukuła, describing it as Poland’s largest civil-defense effort.
- Citizens will enroll through the mObywatel app starting Nov. 22 and be assigned to one of 132 training centers run by the Territorial Defence Forces or the Armed Forces’ Operational Command.
- The modular curriculum covers first aid, survival, cyberdefense, and age-tailored resilience and combat skills for participants ranging from primary-school students to pensioners.
- The rollout aims to train 100,000 volunteers by year-end and a further 400,000 in 2026, following six months of instructor preparation.
- The government also advanced benefit measures including a Family of Uniformed card for about 1.5 million dependents and a Reservist Card, with discounts and privileges progressing through parliament.
