Overview
- The U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center awarded Raytheon a $197 million contract to produce seven MS-110 multispectral reconnaissance pods for the Polish Air Force.
- The agreement includes aircraft integration, engineering support, and associated hardware and software for the new reconnaissance capability.
- Poland is set to be the first NATO nation and the fourth air force worldwide to field the MS-110 system.
- Raytheon says the MS-110 provides day and night, wide-area, long-range imagery and uses onboard AI and machine learning to speed analysis and counter camouflage and decoys in near real time.
- The pod builds on the DB-110 architecture, is compatible with platforms such as F-16s, F-15s, F/A-18s, Gripens, C-130s and MQ-9s, and is claimed by the company to be the only U.S. fast-jet reconnaissance pod offered to international customers.
