Poland and Hanwha Finalize 5.6 Trillion-Won Chunmoo Rocket Deal With Production in Poland

Technology transfer in the pact gives Warsaw domestic control over Homar-K munitions.

Overview

  • Poland’s Armament Agency signed the third-stage contract in Warsaw with a consortium of Hanwha Aerospace and Hanwha‑WB Advanced System, a joint venture with WB Electronics.
  • The agreement covers CGR-080 precision-guided rockets with an 80 kilometer range to serve as core ammunition for Poland’s Homar-K launcher program.
  • Rockets will be produced at a new facility in Poland operated by the joint venture, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2030.
  • The deal follows 2022 and 2024 agreements valued at 5.03 trillion won and 2.2 trillion won, which included launchers, missiles, integration, and support.
  • South Korea’s presidential chief of staff Kang Hoon-sik attended the signing and said the program advances Seoul’s push to rank among the top four arms exporters, noting Polish contracts now exceed $10 billion.
