Overview

  • The version 4.0.0 patch for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet launched June 2 and is available at no extra cost to all owners.
  • On Nintendo Switch 2 hardware the games now run at a steady 60 frames per second, eliminating the frequent dips below 30 fps seen on the original console.
  • Draw distance has been extended and visuals have been optimized for Switch 2’s native display and high-resolution televisions.
  • Scarlet & Violet join a selection of Switch titles, such as Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, receiving free day-one enhancements on Switch 2.
  • Nintendo Switch 2 launches June 5 and the next Pokémon title, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, is scheduled for release on both Switch consoles October 16, 2025.
