Overview
- An XP Celebration event runs from August 25 to October 14 with 2× catch XP for Nice, Great, and Excellent throws, +3,000 XP for raid and Max Battle wins, and Timed Research worth about 7 million XP.
- On October 15, player levels will be recalculated from total lifetime XP with no level decreases, and some accounts may jump and receive retroactive rewards, with exact thresholds to be detailed closer to launch.
- Level-Up Research for levels 41–50 will be removed and new Level-Up Research will arrive for levels 71–80, while the level 47 walking task has been eased from eight qualifying weeks to two.
- New progression rewards include free increases to Pokémon, item, and Gift storage, new avatar items starting at level 25, and higher odds of becoming Lucky Friends from level 70, and Pokémon power-up levels remain capped at 50.
- Legacy cosmetics tied to levels 40–50, including the Level 50 Jacket, stop being earnable after October 14, and eligible players keep them and receive a commemorative medal plus a new avatar pose for reaching level 50.
